Tutor Tuesday: Study Skills

Starting the school year means that either good study skills must be started now or learned very quickly. It is never too late or too early to start establishing these essential skills.

Take these first three steps to start your year off right.

  • Write down every assignment. Use the iPad calendar. Use a planner. Just don't skip this step. Missing any assignment or test will set you on a slippery slope to a lower grade.

  • Remember to hand in what you have completed. Late assignments may not be accepted.

  • Communicate with your teacher. Most issues can be resolved by simply talking with your teacher. Don't understand assignment instructions? Stay a few minutes after class and ask. Still don't understand the material? Ask for some supplemental material recommendations to help.
