Praise Him in the Storm...

Our plans may not be His plans. This is something, as Christians, we are constantly reminded of as we try to set forth with our plans in place.

On Friday, July 24th, the plans at Cape Fear Christian Academy dramatically changed as administration received the notice that a pipe had failed resulting in significant flooding of the Wellon's Elementary Building. As a result most of the drywall, carpet, tile, cabinetry, and curriculum must be replaced. His plans are not always our plans.

In His plans, the water was clear meaning the flood was from the supply line. Thank you, Lord, that folks didn't have to wade through sewer water but rather it was crystal clear clean water. In His plans, a staff member stopped by the Academy on what would have been considered the weekend and found the flood before more significant damage occurred. Thank you, Lord, that someone found the damage earlier than later. In His plans, the carpet must be completely removed and replaced. Thank you, Lord, for providing a way to replace the carpet. In His plans, the drywall must be removed and replaced. Thank you, Lord, for providing a fresh coat of paint for each classroom. In His plans, cabinetry was damaged. Thank you, Lord, for providing a way to reorganize classrooms to allow your children to learn in the best environment possible. In His plan, the curriculum materials were delivered this past week and were saturated with water during the flood. Thank you, Lord, for providing curriculum that teaches us to praise you in this storm. In His plans, he has provided us an insurance company (Snipes Insurance of Dunn) and restoration services to assist with the clean-up and restoration. Thank you, Lord, for an insurance company that responds in under 30 minutes with full restoration services (First Call Restoration Company a partnering company of Southeastern Interiors) who removed all damaged materials from the building in under 24 hours.

In our times of sorrow, we can choose to mourn our plans or rejoice in His plans. Today, yesterday, this weekend: we chose to rejoice in His plans.

For we will praise You in this storm for we know:

Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Phillipians 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

James 1:2-4 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

If this has helped you find joy in times of frustration, peace in times of distress, or comfort during times of exhaustion, please share with someone that can use this to give them hope in Jesus Christ.
